hello again, it's good to see you

I don't write here much because I know not many read it, so why bother, lol, but I have something to say so I'm gunna jump up on the box & say it, dammit!

There have been a lot of problems lately with people using other people's art here on DA to make what is called 'signature tags' to be shared on graphics groups @ aol, yahoo and such. I'm here to lend my support for those who it upsets, because I fully understand how you feel. I am an owner of my own tag group, and I also make my own art here on DA, so I can look at this issue from both sides equally.

I will admit that I may be guilty of some infringements myself, so I wont shout out too loudly, but watching all this unravel from a distance has opened my eyes and made me understand the errors of my ways - and I will now be more selective as to what I use for my art.

Being an artist myself, it surely does upset me when someone changes what I've done and then takes credit for it. I have had it happen.. and to tell you the truth, it DOES piss you off. Yes, I am flattered that people LIKE what I've done and it has touched them in some way, but a lot of self expression goes into art, its a very personal thing, and when it is changed and mis-used, well it just isn't fair.
Some people don't care if their work is used, in fact they support the use of it, and more power to them.. for it is a great resource to be able to find good works to use, but not everyone is like that. Some people would just like their art to be left alone and to speak for them.
I know in this world of the internet it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to control these things, and nearly futile to try, but some still are fighting the fight... it's just a shame that they should have to!
